June 8th, ASQ Hartfor is proud to once again honor one outstanding professional with our esteemed Joe Trowbridge Qulity Person of the Year Award. In addition to our Quality Person of the Year award presentation, we will also welcome Heidi Joseph of the Wheeler Clinic who will be speaking on quality in healthcare and cover the Wheeler Clinics background, mission and vision, overview of services provided, quality metrics and reporting structure, data collection and how they use it to affect change and improve patient outcomes, quality improvement initiatives, and accreditation and licensing requirements and standards-an overview as they relate to our healthcare setting.
Heidi Joseph has been a Registered Nurse for 20 years and in health care for over 25 years. She earned her Bachelors of Nursing from University of St. Joseph in 1997 followed by a Masters of Nursing, Public Health concentration from University of Hartford in 2012. She is currently pursuing a Doctorate of Nursing Practice in Nurse Leadership at Quinnipiac University with anticipated completion in 2018.
Heidi has worked with all ages in a variety of settings focusing on emergency nursing, public health, infection prevention and staff education in primary care and inner-city and rural community acute care institutions. She currently is the Vice President of Operations for the Health and Wellness Centers with Wheeler Clinic where the focus is on whole person centered and integrated care for all ages. She was instrumental in helping Wheeler achieve Joint Commission Ambulatory Care Patient Centered Medical Home Accreditation in 2017. She also published an article in the Journal of Emergency Nursing, titled “Recognizing Chronic Sorrow in the Habitual Emergency Department Patient” in October, 2012.
She was born and raised in Connecticut and currently resides in Portland.
